About qwartly

qwartly is MTD bridging software for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. It lets UK sole traders and landlords keep the spreadsheet they already use and submit their quarterly updates to HMRC through the official MTD API - without moving to full accounting software.

Why We Built qwartly

Most MTD software expects you to abandon your spreadsheet and move your records into a new system, usually for a monthly subscription. But HMRC's rules don't require that: a spreadsheet plus bridging software is a fully compliant way to meet Making Tax Digital requirements. We built qwartly for people who have a record-keeping system that already works and just need the submission part handled - at a flat £49 per year, with no per-property or per-submission charges.

Where We Are on HMRC Recognition

qwartly is built on HMRC's official Making Tax Digital API. Our application for production credentials is with HMRC now; while that completes, anyone can use qwartly free in test mode to run the full quarterly workflow against HMRC's sandbox. Live filing opens as soon as approval completes, and this page will be updated when qwartly appears on GOV.UK's list of compatible software.
